PAUL EDWIN “ED” DENMARK

Paul Edwin “Ed” Denmark, 79, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Brenda Coleman Denmark, died Thursday morning, November 12, 2015, at his home and under the care of Hospice Savannah.

denmark - ed (150 x 222)Born in Bulloch County, Georgia, he was a son of the late Paul Denmark and the late Grace Gay Denmark. Ed was a member of Silk Hope Baptist Church. He served in the Georgia National Guard and the U. S. Army Reserves. Ed was an automotive mechanic and owned and operated Ed Denmark’s Garage for more than 35 years. He was a charter member and served as the first president of the Dixieland Cruisers. Ed was a member of the Cobra Club and a former member of Savannah Moose Lodge #1550.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Denmark; a step-son, Ronald Callahan, and a sister, Dorothy Green.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Brenda Coleman Denmark of Savannah, Georgia; one daughter, Rhonda Sauls of Bluffton, South Carolina; one son, Marty E. Denmark of Savannah, Georgia; one daughter-in-law, Marie Callahan of Savannah, Georgia; two granddaughters; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Denmark and his wife, Iona, and Donald Green, all of Savannah, Georgia; two special cousins, Billy Denmark and his wife, Penny, of Long Beach, Mississippi, and Chuck Barlow and his wife, Jean, of Columbia, South Carolina; one aunt, Bill Barlow, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o’clock Monday evening at Gamble Funeral Service – 410 Stephenson Avenue.

The funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning at Silk Hope Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Jonathan E. Phillips and Pastor Johnny R. Bowen. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
