How to request cars for your special event.

The members of Dixieland Cruisers of Savannah drive cars from the 1930's to 1980's.  Some are original antiques, others are highly modified vehicles.  The value of these cars and trucks vary from $10,000 to over $50,000.  We all love to have people look at our cars, but please don't touch. 

All the members have one thing in common.  We all enjoy showing our old cars, food, and friendship.  Give us a chance to show off our cars and we'll try to attend your event. 

If you are planning an event and would like some cars to attract attention, we might be able to help.  The more advanaced notice you give us, the greater number of cars will participate.  We will advertise the event on our website.  This will help attract cars from other car clubs also. 

Our bylaws prohibit us from participating in events that have alcoholic beverages.

Car shows and cruise-ins have several features that you may want to consider. 

1. Will there be trophies or plaques awarded?
2. Will there be door prizes?
3. Will the participants pay an entrants fee?  Usually $15 to $20.
4. Who will judge the cars?  the participants? the organisers? the people?
5. Will there be food?
6. Will there be entertainment?  DLC has members who are also entertainers.  The T-Birds are a "live" band.  The Pink Ladies sing "live" songs from the '50's.  Elvis is also known to appear.  These club members perform at our annual show to help collect money for charity. 
7. Is there shade?  Water?  Rest rooms?
8. Cruise-ins don't have any prizes awarded.  Car owners do not always arrive on time to cruise-ins, nor do they stay to the end of an event like they do at car shows with prizes.
