James
Monroe Grant, Jr., 71, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at
Effingham Hospital.
The
Dodge County native served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He retired
from Gulfstream after 39 years, was a member of Countryside Baptist
Church, the Dixieland Cruisers, and loved cars.
He
was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Vaughn Grant, father, James
Monroe Grant, Sr., and step-mother, Rachel Grant. Survivors
include his wife, Donna Grant; adopted son, A.J. Grant (Megan) of
Pearland, TX; step-daughter, Dana Shuman; step-son, Denny Pittman
(Vickie); grandchildren, Samantha Grant, Chloe Grant, Callie Grant, Mike
Petrea (Anna), Nick Petrea (Gaby), Zack Petrea (Megan), Hunter Petrea,
Spencer Pittman, Hayley Pittman, and Kyle Hart; great-grandchildren,
Colton, Lakelyn, Bentley, Liliana, and Michael; brother, Terry Grant
(Janet) of Macon; step-brothers, Glenn Boyette (Becky) of Atlanta and
Dennis Boyette of Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial
services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Countryside Baptist
Church.
