Members and their guests must abide by the laws
of the club or they may be asked to depart the
meeting.
No alcohol
may be consumed or present at any car show.

DIXIELAND CRUISERS CAR CLUB
OF SAVANNAH

ARTICLE I
Name and
Insignia
Section
1. The name of this club will be “Dixieland Cruisers of
Savannah, Georgia
Section
2. This Club will have such official insignia as the
membership will determine
ARTICLE II
Purpose
Section
1. Promote interest in various types of special interest
auto activity
Section
2. Create good fellowship and sportsmanship among the
members
Section
3. To uphold the principals of good government, and support
charities as a non-profit
organization
Section
4. Conduct Club operations and activities in such a manner
as to bring about a clearer understanding on the part
of the public, press, and law
enforcement agencies of organized special interest auto activities
Section
5. Promote safety in automobile maintenance and operation
ARTICLE III
Qualifications
Section
1. Any person of good character interested in special
interest auto activities and meeting
the qualifications of this Club is eligible for membership and
full privileges thereof
Section
2. All applicants for membership must be sponsored by a
member in good standing and must be
introduced by that member at a club meeting. New
members will be voted on by the membership. An applicant
would be rejected by “No” votes from
25% of the quorum
Section
3. All applicants for membership must fill out an
application form
Section
4. Upon passing all qualifications, applicants must pay
applicable dues. Any changes of dues
will be determined by the membership
ARTICLE IV
Membership
Section 1.
Annual membership is from January 1st thru
December 31st
Section
2. There shall be three types of membership in this club:
Active, Lifetime, and Honorary
Section
3. New members will be provided a copy of the ByLaws upon
joining
Section
4. Any person who does outstanding work of the Club can be
made an Honorary Member, if voted on
by the Club membership
Section 5.
The surviving spouse of an active member shall be granted
Lifetime status. The surviving
spouse will have full active status to include voting,
but will not be required to pay dues.
Section
6. There will be a single membership with one vote and a
family membership with a vote by husband and wife
Section
7. Any member who later fails to meet the qualifications;
commits unsafe driving acts while
driving a special interest auto on public highways;
whose conduct is otherwise detrimental to the purpose and
standing of the club may be suspended
or expelled from the club by a two-thirds (2/3)
vote of all the members. The member may appeal to the
Executive Committee in person, or by
letter within thirty (30) days. After reviewing
the appeal, the Executive Committee may then present it to
the Club for a vote.
ARTICLE V
Dues
Section
1. Dues are payable at the first meeting of January. Dues
for new members will
be prorated at 100% until the third quarter, which will be
lowered to 50%, and the fourth quarter will be
at 25%
Section
2. Any member whose dues are sixty (60) days in arrears
shall be automatically
dropped from the rolls of the Club and can only be reinstated
to full membership upon the membership vote and payment of
full year current dues.
Section
3. All dues and fees paid to the Club will not be refunded
under any circumstances
ARTICLE VI
Officers and
Duties
Section
1. The elected officers of this Club will be: a President,
Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary
Section
2. The President will preside at all meetings of the club;
appoint such committees as
necessary to carry out the activities of the Club; act as
ex- offficio member of all special
committees; issue the call for regular and
special meetings; and see that the regular elections are
held in accordance
with the Club Constitution
Section
3. The Vice-President will perform the duties of the
President in his absence and assist the
President with any duties as he designates
Section 4.
The Treasurer will collect dues; collect all other money
due the Club; make payments from Club funds; sign Club
checks; keep the Club money
matters; and will make regular reports of the financial condition of
the Club to members at monthly meetings
Section
5. The Secretary will record and maintain the minutes of
all meetings; have the minutes of all
meetings and Club ByLaws available for review at all
meetings; and administer the “Sunshine Fund”
ARTICLE VII
Elections
Section
1. All officers will be elected at the May meeting and will
assume office at the June meeting of the new term, and
shall hold office for one year or until
their successors are duly qualified and elected. The club term will
be June thru May
Section
2. All nominees for office will be active members
Section
3. Elections will be held as follows: The President will
appoint a Nominating Committee at the March
meeting; that Committee will submit the slate of
officers at the April meeting, and other
nominations may be made from the floor, these
nominations will be published prior to the May meeting, where
again nominations may be made from the
floor. Voting may be by secret ballot.
Section
4. Elections will be the last order of business at the May
meeting
Section
5. Elections will be decided by a majority vote of all
members in good standing who are
present
Section
6. All elected and appointed officers must remain active
members in good standing during their term
in office
ARTICLE VIII
Meetings
Section
1. Ten percent (10%) of the active members in good standing
will constitute a quorum
Section
2. Regular membership meetings will be held on the second
Tuesday of each month
Section
3. The President may call special meetings
Section
4. Club meetings will be governed by Roberts Rules of Order
ARTICLE IX
Club Monies
Section
1. All proceeds from any project by the Club will go to the
Club Treasury
Section
2. A minimum of two-thirds (2/3) of all funds raised will
be given to Charities
Section
3. All monies of the Club spent for personal benefit of the
members will be approved by a majority
vote of the members who are present
Section
4. Charity Committee Donation Guidelines:
a.
The Charity Committee can recommend a maximum of $500.00 per
organization per year. (The Club can exceed this limit by a
majority vote.)
b.
Local Charities are preferred
c.
Charitable organizations must be non-profit organizations
d.
The Charity Donation Year is from May after the Annual Car Show
thru the following April
e.
Club members are to submit charitable donation requests to
Charity Committee in May and June. Additional requests can be
submitted through the end of the Donation Year.
f.
The Club will provide the Charity Committee with a Charity
budget for the Donation Year at the June Meeting.
g.
The Charity Committee will consolidate the charity requests,
determine eligibility, and obtain appropriate background info.
h.
The Charity Committee will submit recommendations for 75% of
the Charity Budget to the Club at the July meeting for discussion and
voting.
i.
Twenty-five percent (25%) of the Charity Budget will be held in
reserve for additional donations later in the Charity Donation Year.
Section
5. Club Participation Monetary Awards;
a. The members in attendance can by majority vote to
donate to the car show
organization’s charity or charities. The funds will be turned over
to the Dixieland Cruisers Charity
Committee in the event of a tie.
b.
The members in attendance can by majority vote to turn the
funds over to the Dixieland Cruisers’ Charity Committee.
c.
The funds will be turned over to the Dixieland Cruisers’
Charity Committee if the organization’s car show is not supporting a
charity. The participating club members can by majority vote
recommend a charity to the Dixieland Cruisers’ Charity Committee if
the funds are brought back to the club.

ARTICLE X
Sunshine Fund
Section
1. If a member, or an immediate member of a Club member’s
family passes away, flowers will
be sent from the Club
Section
2. The price for a floral arrangement is not to exceed
$75.00(change

ARTICLE XI
Club Property
Section
1. All Club property will be itemized on an inventory sheet
to include the item description, value,
member holding property and telephone number
Section
2. Property will be maintained in a secure environment
which prevents loss or degradation
of the property
Section
3. Club members may make use of the property with
permission of the Club leadership
Section
4. Members using Club property are responsible for it’s
condition, repair, and or replacement
Section
5. Members holding property will make the property
available for events at the request of
the Club leadership
ARTICLE XII
Club
Disbanding (In the Event of…)
Section
1. A quorum of Club members must be present at a Club
meeting to consider disbanding the Club.
Section
2. If a majority of members at the meeting in Section 1
vote to consider disbanding the Club,
a letter will be sent out to each member by the Club
Secretary stating that a vote to disband the Club will be
conducted at the next regularly
scheduled meeting.
Section
3. A majority of Club members at the meeting must vote for
the disbanding of the Club in order for the
Club to be disbanded
Section
4. Club property will be disposed at auction, sold or given
to charity by a vote of the Club members.
Section
5. Club monetary funds will be used to pay outstanding
bills and the remaining given
to charity by vote of the Club members.
Section
6. The Club Secretary will notify the State of Georgia that
the Club has disbanded.
ARTICLE XIII
Procedures
for Changing By-Laws
Section
1. Any Club Member may propose a By-Law change at a monthly
Club Meeting.
Section
2. If a majority of the Club Members at the meeting vote to
incorporate the proposed change into the
By-Laws, the proposed change will be given to the By
Laws Committee Chairman.
Section
3. The By Law Committee will present the proposed By Law
change at the next Club Meeting.
Section
4. If a majority of the Club Members at the meeting vote to
accept the language of the proposed By Law,
it will be placed on the Club Website
and in the Club Newsletter for Club Members to review and
to announce voting on the proposed
change at the next regular scheduled Club
Meeting.
Section
5. The new By Law will be voted on at the next Club Meeting
following the review by Club Members.
Section 6.
A majority vote of the Club Members at the Club Meeting is
necessary to incorporate By Law Changes into
the Club By Laws.
Section
7. Approved By Law Changes will be incorporated into the
Club By Laws by the Club Secretary and made
available for all members.
